Brief Bio
Renée Betancourt, MD is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Family Medicine and Community Health. Additionally, Dr. Betancourt is the Clerkship Director in Family Medicine, as well as the Faculty Director of the Health Equity Curriculum and the Co-Director of the Doctoring 1 Course at the Perelman School of Medicine. She practices the full scope of Family Medicine including chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension, routine GYN care, contraception and family planning, pre-natal care, and obstetrics. She also provides LGBTQ health care including gender-affirming hormone therapy, pediatrics, pre-exposure prophylaxis for HIV (PREP). Dr. Betancourt additionally provides mental health care including depression and anxiety, treatment for addictions, health-focused and body-positive weight loss treatment, and adult care. Dr. Betancourt delivers babies with the Penn Family Care group at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
